If you love the French Quarter, help us raise awareness for our neighborhood as exactly that…a neighborhood. New Orleans is full of amazing neighborhoods, and every one of them has ties to our city’s FIRST neighborhood: The French Quarter. Or, as it was back in the day… the Vieux Carré.
French Quarter Citizens and Vieux Carre Property Owners, Residents and Associates (VCPORA) are two non-profit organizations who work tirelessly to protect our historic neighborhood. We invite you to join us in celebrating the French Quarter as a neighborhood, a place you love either because you’re from here and know how special the French Quarter is, you live in the Quarter, or you work here and experience its convivial spirit on a daily basis—or, because you’re a visitor enjoying the richness both of its heritage and its present-day dynamism.
Regular people live here, shop here, work here and raise their families here. Looking at the centuries old buildings, one can imagine the past and its amazing history. Someone much like you lives in these buildings now, perhaps even a family a lot like yours. People who live and work in the Quarter want to make sure this neighborhood retains its historic character, its distinctive charm, and its unique vibrancy.
It’s that neighborhood spirit that keeps the French Quarter vibrant, real, and thriving. Show some love for the FQ and share it on Fb. Help tell the world we’re so much more than a place visitors love (9 million, last count!)
